Identification

The Coal Tit is another bird that can often be seen in our gardens. They are right little characters found mainly in coniferous woodland but not exclusively.

Several species of tit have a bold black and white face pattern but only the Coal Tit has this neat white stripe down its nape. The cold grey colour on its back is another of its distinguishing features.

Habitat

Breeds and winters in woodlands, particularly coniferous, and occurs in winter in gardens and hedgerows.

Migration

Sedentary.
